The graduate season is now in full force, and many fresh-faced alumni will soon be looking to get their first real taste of the working world. With that in mind, the sales and event marketing specialists, Rego Interactions have revealed how firms could be missing out on top talent due to their inflexible approach to hiring experienced candidates over those with raw potential.
Last week, the Newcastle-based sales firm Rego Interactions released a statement to explain why the sales and marketing industry remains the perfect sector for new graduates who are looking to take control of their own professional growth but do not yet have any industry experience.
The firm’s Managing Director, Alexander Davies explained how the industry is geared towards nurturing the talent of young professionals, teaching entrepreneurship and providing the necessary support to ensure individuals have the chance to become the very best in their field.
Mr Davies went on to state that at Rego Interactions, they think it’s important to take the ‘no experience necessary’ approach to recruitment as it has enabled them to cultivate the right workforce, with each of them possessing the top personality traits required to succeed. Mr Davies said “A positive attitude supersedes years of experience in our view. It’s harder to teach motivation, ambition and a positive mentality than it is to lay out the ins and outs of the business.”
Mr Davies went on to explain that an additional benefit is that promotes innovation and risk taking as individuals with no previous experience in the industry are not yet tainted or apprehensive about potential things that could go wrong. He also added that these people are much more likely to approach situations with enthusiasm and view things in a different light. He stated that as it stands, there are over 39 million students and recent graduates on LinkedIn, making them the fastest growing professional demographic, and as a result, he is now urging firms to utilise this to acquire top talent.
Mr Davies said “To be successful in any industry, you need to be prepared to take risks and it is no different in sales and marketing. And while many companies think it’s a huge risk taking someone on with little or no experience, for us, it is a no-brainer, and we believe that they will be our key to success in the future.”
Rego Interactions are now launching their own recruitment drive and are actively encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to apply. The firm offer fantastic professional and business development opportunities and their program are specifically designed to teach the fundamental skills needed for individuals to run their own business in the sales and marketing industry.
